I personally search for the fabrics and trims here in Los Angeles, often working with deadstock materials and what is available locally. Sometimes the fabric itself becomes part of the story and helps guide where the design goes.

From there, I create the pattern and work through the fit and proportions with the plus-size body in mind. Patternmaking has always been an important part of my process because it keeps me closely connected to the design from the very beginning.

Once the design, fabric, and pattern come together, the garment moves into production with small, local woman-run production houses here in Los Angeles.

Over the years, Zelie For She grew into carrying more inventory and producing larger quantities. This time around, I’m choosing to take a smaller approach and return to the roots of how Zelie For She began all those years ago! Creating in limited quantities and staying closely connected to every part of the process.

That closeness continues even after the garment is finished. I’ll personally be preparing and shipping each order, adding thoughtful touches along the way.

This new chapter is about slowing things down, creating with more care, and returning to something that has always been at the heart of Zelie For She — being made with love.
